So after having one of my recent posts taken down by Blogger

I'm considering moving my blog yet again to another blogging site.

Blogger issued me a copyright infringement e-mail, and without warning, deleted my post. Gone is the full concert review for the Airborne Toxic Event show.

Simply put, that's unfair. I put a lot of time into each post, and losing that specific one is something I can't write up again easily.

The site I may switch to right now is Typepad.

I'll keep everyone updated as to what I choose to do, so hold tight. My choice will likely come within the next few days.

Keep It Hid

I picked up Dan Auerbach's new record "Keep It Hid" yesterday and I'm already finding myself humming along the songs throughout the day. I had the lead single "I Want Some More" stuck in my head for a good two hours earlier this morning.

I read a review somewhere online that said Auerbach almost sounds bit like John Fogerty on this album. I couldn't agree more. There's an old-school CCR rock vibe going on.

Sleepy Sunday

I love these days. Nothing seems to matter. Wake up and just lay in bed.

I'm planning on getting out today though and taking an adventure. An adventure of the photography kind. Adventures around here are easy with all of the countryside we have surrouding our quaint little town.

Reminds me that I still should get a bike somewhere down the road - I always admire the people who take bike rides on Sundays.

(Here's to hoping for another Postal Service album despite it being 6 years since the last, sigh. Might as well throw Sufjan Stevens into that hope too.)

Rainy days, please stay around.

The past few days have been rainy and contrary to popular belief, Californians also love rain. We needdddd rain bad right now. It's been another year of drought and one can only wonder when or if we'll ever see the required amount of annual rainfall again.

But enough of that!

Weather talk can put you to sleep. A better option? Listen to these tunes, keep warm and watch the rain from inside.

I'm really liking this new Decemberist's song off their upcoming Hazards Of Love album that's scheduled to drop on March 24th. Fits the rain kind of well.

Delta Spirit at Bottom Of The Hill 2/4/09

Took my first ever trip to SF's famous Bottom Of The Hill concert house/club last night. I say house only because it's basically a converted house. Or at least that's how I saw it.

Lately I've been seeing things in a generally weird way.

Anyway, aside from that the show rocked. Openers Dawes (myspace.com/dawestheband) and Other Lives (myspace.com/otherlives) provided two nice sets before
Delta Spirit came on. My one complaint is that Other Lives didn't have their cello player turned up enough or something because the poor woman sat in the corner and played beautiful-yet-barely audible cello strings.

Delta Spirit came on around 10:30 and played to what seemed like a full house (not the John Stamos kind). Lead man Matthew Vasquez provided a ton of energy - honestly the guy could be considered mentally unstable in some way, he uses a ton of crazy facial expressions and head nods while looking at certain audience members. They played about 4 new songs that they said "would be out later this year" and went through most of last year's Ode To Sunshine.

This show was also my first concert with my new Rebel XS D-SLR. I didn't take many pictures but still got a few decent shots of Vasquez. Once I buy a better lens I'll be set for that part of attending concerts (I'm still using the stock 18-55 mm lens right now).

Concert rating: 8/10

First Post, New Blog Site

I'm finally going to get back into this music blog business.

It's a new year and I'd like to start it up again -- hopefully keeping up with it.

Starting this blog off will be some new Animal Collective from their recent Merriweather Post Pavillion album released a few weeks ago. I'm also throwing on some My Morning Jacket because I can. Ha.
